Seriously, if they were looking for a "younger generation" Star Trek, it should be more gritty, realistic, primitive, with less technology and more "militarism". More "Das Boot" meets "Star Wars".
Young bright officers dealing with the prime issues of their young lives and careers and less with "romantic adventures" and sports cars.
Starships that were barely held together, with primative drive systems and realistic settings.

When Kirk was at the academy weren't Sulu and Uhura teenagers? And Spock was science officer of the Enterprise years before he met Kirk. How could they have met at the Academy?

They've got to be kidding! This has to be one of the stupidest concepts I've ever seen. If they're going to be doing "Kiddie Star Trek" why don't they just make it a Saturday morning cartoon show?

I swear, Hollywood must be absolutely bereft of any new or original ideas these days ....

Yeah, this is culturally lost on me too. I mean, I know what the point is SUPPOSED to be, but I'm fifty, so I'm proud to say I started intentionally not watching entire series on TV at 21 Jump Street. Never seen an episode of 90210, Bay Watch, &c... but I have seen every episode of every Trek series since the original. LOL!
