So, 4,000 rubes are dead. Cry me the Tigris. Another 30,000 have been seriously wounded. Boo f***ing hoo. They got what they asked for — and cool robotic limbs, too.

are we sure this guy’s off the drugs ?

    He says that now…

But just wait until the zombie apocalypse, he’ll be hiding behind the troops, while he can…

(My new goal in life is to try to get as many people prepared for the zombie apocalypse and thus will be referencing it in everyone of my comments)

I wouldn’t dream of it, John Wayne!

Don’t waste your time with this guy.

He isn’t fit to carry Rufus’ jock…who as I’ve pointed out in a earlier post isn’t fit to carry mine.

Someone obviously has some issues they need to work through.

I’m too busy being a tool of the man to worry about this turd…maybe we can dispatch some high school ROTC cadet to take care of this oxygen thief.

The real shame of it might be that the loved one of someone who gave their life for this country might accidentally read that tripe…what an ass.

    Outlaw13,
Don’t you mean “worthy?” I’m in pretty good shape. I do Jazzercise 4 days a week. I think I’m fit enough to carry it.

  12. Outlaw 13on 28 Apr 2008 at 10:16 am 12

Saying someone isn’t “fit” to carry something is a redneck way of saying they aren’t “worthy”….smartass. :)

  13. Troyon 28 Apr 2008 at 11:52 am 13

I don’t know Outlaw — someone would have to be pretty physically fit to carry my jockstrap.

While he sounds like a lunatic, i must say there’s a point in there somewhere. I have always been against the war (and i’m not a far-lefty, barely a lefty at all), but was always supporting the troops, with a “well they’re there, might as well hope they do some good and not get killed” attitude. But i’m not sure how you can support someone for doing something that you don’t support in the first place. So while this columnist seems to be in dire need of some lithium, i gotta agree that his point is a valid one, prima fascia.

I dont hate the military; i think it’s courageous to enlist. While i wouldnt wish any of them to die, supporting something doesnt equate with patriotism just because someone is brave and his life is in danger.

Aris, you claim (and I believe you) to support the troops, not hate the military and think it’s courageous to enlist… but have now come to feel that’s an untenable position?

I’d only ask you to consider that most of these troops had about as much say on America going into Iraq as you or I did. Like you, some are even against the occupation, yet continue to do their duty. True, they volunteered for service and thusly have an obligation, but as you noted, that’s a courageous thing.

Point being, if a man or woman on the front lines can be against the war and still support their comrades, so can you.

You sure this isn’t an “Onion” piece?

No need to answer btw….it’s rhetorical ; )

    “relatively sensible pundits—like Keith Olbermann”

Right there, I knew he was nuts.
