Evan Sayet’s “Right To Laugh” — Tuesday, August 19th

Posted by Dirty Harry on Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Evan Sayet is not only a terrific comedian, his brilliant deconstruction of liberalism, which you can watch above, is the only time I’ve ever watched anything on my computer that was longer than four minutes.

I’ve seen his comedy show. If you’re in the area, you should go.

If he ever needs someone to help shoot a project of his - I’m there, with my Red (State) camera!

(Shameless self-promotion, I know, but this guy’s brilliant!) Guess Bill Maher’s comedy is less-so - since Evan isn’t writing for him.

How can I get a transcript of this speech and/or preserve this screen. I have to have this somewhere permanently. I have been tryiing for forty years to figure out what thought or fantasy or philosophy is behind the modern liberal mind-set/world view. There are five hundred books in my library dealing with this issue, and now this man finally nails it.
    At last, I understand.

Does this man ever come to north Idaho in any capacity or for any reason, How do I find out? I will google the name. My computer illiteracy is declining slowly but surely.

I saw this video sometime ago and he absolutely nails what todays liberal is all about. When Harry’s king, it’ll be mandatory viewing at ever K-12 school in america.

    @ Audietoo (#3)

There is an MP3 of the speech here:

I’ve mentioned here before that I’ve reached a lot of people with this video that I was never able to reach before.

    Hey All,

First, DH, thanks for the link and the plug for my show. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that this talk to a half-empty room of eggheads has gone around the world and continues to get played and linked to. As we’ve discussed, I’m a big fan of yours.

As for visiting Idaho, I was almost in Boise this past month but it fell through at the last minute. Maybe sometime soon.

    Thanks for your support.

    Evan

Funny how that ‘abe’ is nowhere to be seen around here. Maybe he’s re-evaluating his wayward life. Nah, probably not. :(

  9. Tangoon 16 Aug 2008 at 2:56 pm 9

Abe is still at kitchen table with pen in hand trying to rebut each point Evan made. I believe he’s still stuck on No. 1

  10. Kenn Christensonon 16 Aug 2008 at 2:59 pm 10

    Hey Evan,

I know you don’t know me from Adam, but I’d be happy to help if you have any no/low budget projects that you’d like to get on camera.

    Keep up the excellent work!

    KC

I have just finished watching all 47 minutes and 55 seconds of this incredible talk!

Dirty Harry - thank you for linking it. I had never heard of Mr. Sayet before - thank God that’s no longer the case.

Mr. Sayet - THANK you for explaining so precisely what I have been stuttering to explain to my friends. I’m linking your speech to them (and to my sister and niece) now. (BTW, Amazon owes you a referral fee - I just logged on their site and bought “The Closing of the American Mind” and “The Road to Serfdom” because of you.)

I love this guy’s analysis, but it’s incomplete until he incorporates WHITE GUILT. You don’t understand Liberals until you understand that.

You white people need to get over it already. Seriously, your guilt will be the downfall of Western civilization.

  13. Mavison 16 Aug 2008 at 4:29 pm 13

This was wonderful and encouraging to listen to. He boldly speaks the truth. He even has a bold hair do!

  14. Moon 16 Aug 2008 at 4:53 pm 14

Saw this talk some time ago and thought it was fantastic.

  15. Kenn Christensonon 16 Aug 2008 at 6:51 pm 15

Anyone watch the Saddleback thingy on Fox? Kinda fun to see Obama stumbling and equivocating and McCain answering straightforward with some great stories, as well.

  16. Ronsonicon 16 Aug 2008 at 7:40 pm 16

Excellent. The unified theory of Liberalism.

Thank you Evan, and DH for passing it along.

  17. Major Grahamon 16 Aug 2008 at 7:51 pm 17

    Evan,

Absolutely brilliant. As a soldier who has been deployed twice to Iraq I found that to be one of the best descriptions of modern liberalism that I have heard recently. Hope to catch your act up here near Ft. Lewis/Seattle some day. Keep up the great work.

  18. JLon 16 Aug 2008 at 8:02 pm 18

Wow. Thank you Evan and DH for this. I have been trying to get my head around this topic for many years now. I had bits and pieces but could not organize it properly. We have so little time these days to think and learn.

Being one who was “indoctrinated” (16 years in the system) in the 60’s and 70’s, I walked that path for a long time. With God’s protection, a loving wife, and the prayers of my parents, I was able to pass through it relatively unscathed. I always understood right and wrong, but not good and evil. The light bulb has finally gone on for me in the past 8-10 years.

As others have said here, if you have any particular projects in the future, please “get the word out.”

  19. Kenn Christensonon 16 Aug 2008 at 8:16 pm 19

    Major Graham,

Just a simple THANK YOU from the sidelines to someone who’s doing the REAL WORK for this country.

    Best wishes and God bless.

    KC

JL - You in the bizz, too?

  21. Danielon 16 Aug 2008 at 9:01 pm 21

    AudieToo,

If you have Real’s ‘RealPlayer’, version 11 you can easily download any embedded video.

It can be downloaded for free here:

Mr. Sayet, my hat is off to you; you are a gentleman and a scholar.

(…and given the rate my hair-line recedes, I don’t do that frivolously, or without considerable forethought!)

  23. Audietooon 16 Aug 2008 at 11:00 pm 23

Thank you, Kendama and Daniel. I am off to try the Heritage site right now and will pick up the Real player version 11 Monday. Or go to amazon from here so DH gets a cut.

Came across this last year and loved it. Decided to watch it again here and still love it.

After I first watched this video, I tested some of my liberal friends to see if they believed in moral equivalency. True enough, every lib friend was just incapable of calling right “right”, and wrong “wrong”. Every one of them is incapable of having any thought beyond “live for today, screw tomorrow”. It’s just sad, really.

  25. jack Marinoon 17 Aug 2008 at 2:25 am 25

Evan, great stuff! I sent the link to a dozen pals all over the country. You need to do a few more of these. Do one on How Hollywood Blackballs conservatives in the film business. Make some noise out there. You have a great delivery and a passion for the truth. Keep these topics coming and flood them all over YOU TUBE.

  26. Bubbaon 17 Aug 2008 at 5:44 am 26

    Evan:

Like so many here, I absolutely love this speech that you gave. You mentioned that a book was on its way, and I hope its out soon — preferably before November, for obvious reasons.

    (Is this the forthcoming book?)

    Awesome speech Mr. Sayet.

    Thanks for posting DH.

  28. Robert Lindseyon 18 Aug 2008 at 12:34 pm 28

Thanks for this, I work in a university and try to wrap my brain around why so many nice people seem so wrong. As to the years of indoctrination, that’s why we homeschool.

  29. KansasGirlon 19 Aug 2008 at 1:56 pm 29

I am feeling such good thoughts lately. I think my ideals are starting to be heard.

  30. Docon 21 Aug 2008 at 11:13 am 30

    Mr. Sayet
For many years I have quandered the point that while a smaller group, their were those who like me a careerist, that had spent 20 + years in our countries service in the Military I separated at 25 yrs and like others retired at 30. This smaller group I speak of unlike me and most of my associates and friends, were those we had to be careful around because they were politically correct and extraordinarily left and socialist in their thinking. They had the tendency to besmirch over talk and spin into another subject if not return a question with another about an opposing thought when they obviously had no comment to make of creditability to a discussion. I understood the following of orders given to us in service but the thoughts that were counter to those orders and counter productive to what I believed to be solid commonsense governance ( for the most part) just has always escaped me. The out right bulling and lies and twisting of facts to shout down others has always upset me and this conduct almost always in a negative or nonproductive manner towards our leaders and government really escaped me. Thank you sir for bringing my thoughts to fruition and total understanding. I know understand after 60 yrs while Good People can support EVIL .. thanks again ! Semper Fi, R.W.”Doc” Luse, FMF, USN, RET.
