Saw it on Fox News when it first aired, and I liked what Zucker had to say. I still remember when he directed that hilarious commercial about John Kerry and his flip-flopping in the ‘04 election. And at the risk of repeating myself, I WILL see An American Carol in October. I can’t wait to find out where it’ll be playing.

I can’t watch H&C. That left/right, “nyah-nyah” schtick is boring to me. How I wish they had actually prepared for this interview the way Hugh Hewitt or Rush might have. They would have gotten Zucker to talk more. How about asking Zucker to explain again why he became a Republican after 9/11? How about asking more about the film he came on the show to promote? How about exploring the how his brother maintains the opposite viewpoint and what DZ does to influence JZ and vice versa? What a lost opportunity!

I should have mentioned Dennis Miller (along with HH and Rush) as someone who does decent interviews. They do show prep — that’s why they do good interviews. H&C have been phoning it in for years.

    Bob White,

I agree with you. I can’t stand that “nyah, nyah” stuff either. The first question in my mind after he said he voted for Gore was “what made him change his mind and go against Kerry in ‘04? Even though I know the answer, I would bet a large portion of H&C’s audience didn’t know. They only have a few minutes to squeeze the few questions they have in. Someone like Rush can take all the time he wants which allows him to go into much more detail with the person he is interviewing. Shows such as H&C are geared for those with short attention spans, as are most television news shows. That’s why I listen to talk radio and mine the internet for the real news.

Why do I get the feeling that Zucker is going to be laughing all the way to the bank?

Who is the bug sitting next to Hannity?

    amzarak,

I think many of H&C’s viewers can think of one event that might have caused him to go about face.

That dialog could have been a lot tighter. I agree completely with what it was getting at but it was a bit flat. I hope that’s not too characteristic.

I think what Zucker said will resonate with a lot of people, inquisitive, intellectual people who are kind of dumbfounded and put off by the reactionary response of their friends to well-reasoned discourse (like Krauthammer). I know I can relate. Where it sort of dawns on you over time that your liberal friends are not thinking at all, that thinking isn’t part of their process, just believing.

I do love when we get a convert.

But, when Colmes casually says that conservatives have been running things for the last 30 years, and into the ground at that, I am THIS close to having the big one (Elizabeth).

Really Mr. Colmes? Really? Is that what happened? Did we control the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government for the last 30 years? Did our message prevail in the media for the last 30 years? Is that what happened?

Or, did something else happen? Could it be that every friggin time we got a President in, YOUR congress fought tooth and nail to obstruct, distort and sabotage everything he tried to do? Could it be that when we did have control of a legislative branch or two, YOUR President choose to go to war with it, with all the pissyness of a 5 year old who doesn’t want to go to bed? Might that be what REALLY happened?

WE’VE been running the country? Sweet Smoking Jesus! Those idiots actually believe this crap. Whenever I hear that, I want to beat myself over the head with a ball-peen hammer until I drift off into blissful oblivion. (Gotta use a ball-peen hammer to accomplish this, by the by). ARRRGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

    OK, I’m better now.

    Thank you.

I don’t watch H&C too often either. If I wanted to watch two grown-ups yelling at each other, I’d move back in with my parents.

That, and Alan Colmes has gone from being a smart, intellectually honest (if not totally wrong) purveyor of liberal thought into a snarky little twerp trying play “gotcha”. But I suppose having Hannity kicking your ass for 10 years could do that to ya.

“Who is the bug sitting next to Hannity?”

I don’t know but when he laughs he looks like Jim Carrey’s Fire Marshall Bill character. Heh, heh, heh…

I thought perhaps Zucker had gotten the whole 4th of July idea from [ this ] infamous Chris Satullo piece posted on Moore’s website.

Moore may not have written it, but the fact that he allowed it to be posted on his website makes it pretty clear that he agreed with its content.

Wow. Who crapped in Chris Satullo’s cornflakes that morning?
