Yeah, McCain Won The Debate **UPDATE: Gubmint Puts Joe Put Out Of Business
Posted by Dirty Harry on Thursday, October 16th, 2008
The closing argument over who won any debate is seen and heard in how the respective campaigns behave the next day.
Today, John McCain is energized and his surrogates on message.
Today, Bill Ayers’ Friend looks dour and his surrogates are kicking the crap out of a plumber on Ohio
I think this subhed from a NYT front-page headline r on Joe Wurzelbacher says it all:
‘Joe the Plumber’ Is Under Scrutiny
Yes, I’ll bet he is.
Joe Wurzelbacher’s purported distant relationship to Charles Keating is newsworthy, the left is telling me, while Barack Obama’s friendship and protoge relationship with terrorist William Ayers is not.
I’m sorry - - what’s Joe Wurzelbacher running for again? As far as I know he hasn’t declared for Congress.
Yet.
Note that the story isn’t really Joe — it’s Barack Obama’s answer about spreading the wealth.
Note however the NYT chooses to focus on denigrating and attacking the man who elicited the remark, rather than the remark itself.
I could certainly understand this kind of left-wing media character assassination if we were talking about the retarded infant of a Moose-killing governor, but this is just some voter who asked Bill Ayers’ Friend a question.
Oh, yeah, McCain won the debate.
UPDATE: Meet Joe The Former Plumber. Allahpundit asks the pertinent exit question:
Should have known better than to ask a media darling a tough question before your affairs were in order, Joe. Exit question: The law’s the law and it is, after all, his own fault for not having the papers he needs. If, say, an illegal alien had asked McCain a tough question and some righty media source responded by bringing his status to light, would the left feel the same way?
Listen, all those investigators who were up in Alaska need something to do.
If you need me I’ll be scrubbing this site of references to, uhm, er, The Esteemed Senator from Illinois, The Honorable Barack Obama.
In other news, Bill Ayers still an esteemed and wealthy Hyde Park college professor.
UPDATE 2: In other news, ACORN still in business.

Kiton 16 Oct 2008 at 3:28 pm 1See, Dirty Harry, he did win it.
JohnLockeon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:33 pm 2If the media wants to put the spotlight on him, I say, let ‘em. Because after Obama’s response to his question and all the “vetting” that the left-wingers are gonna conduct, I’m willing to bet that eventually this guy will grab a news camera, put it right up to his face, and say, “I’m voting for John McCain.” Then we’ll see who wins Ohio.
Emilyon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:35 pm 3Mac was finally on the attack, and totally kicked ass. Now, if only he had done it in the first two debates…but better late than never. And those who have still not decided were watching the last debate. Going after and tearing apart a private citizen for just asking a simple question is not going to help them at all.
Emilyon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:41 pm 4On UPDATE:
Now I’m really pissed. McCain better put out an ad RIGHT NOW on this.
Obama will get praised by the media for going after Big Plumbing. *goes off to hit something*
Andunedhelon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:44 pm 5Gee DH, you are voluble these days
romanon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:45 pm 6The only people he won over are yourselves. Every poll, even Luntz and FNC, has McCain losing his ass. Why delude yourselves yet again?
The election will be a complete repudiation of the GOP. A total bloodbath.
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:50 pm 7John McCain: Hire Joe as part of your staff!
It wouldn’t be out of pity either, ’cause Joe can really help McCain.
This will backfire, bigtime!
Just when I thought I couldn’t hate the MSMLeftards more!
StevefromMKEon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:52 pm 8“The only people he won over are yourselves. Every poll, even Luntz and FNC, has McCain losing his ass. Why delude yourselves yet again?

Just when I’m getting over the trolls from last night, here comes another one.
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:53 pm 9Roman, how can you base that on polls?
Look how far Reagan was behind Carter. Look how far Bush was behind Gore and Kerry.
If SnObama wins it’ll be only from ACORN fraud.
Delude yourself with that.
laconicon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:56 pm 10roman, get a grip
The latest poll from Gallup poll shows a 2 point difference, within the margin of error. It will get closer than that if the attacks on Joe the plumber continue and the M.S.M. continue to ignore the stories like “Obama orginiser attempts to register voters in Jails” (trying to register those due for release just before the election), Acorn calling Obama a liar in S.F.C. this morning. You can fool some of the people etc, etc.
Dirty Harry's Momon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:56 pm 11Joe is not a licensed plumber in the state of Ohio, he is a tax dodge and a registered Republican. Just another example of McCain’s careful vetting of someone he will choose to discuss.
Harry Here: Mom, just so I understand: You want McCain’s relationship with Joe The Plumber vetted … but that relationship between Obama and Ayers … not so much.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
laconicon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:58 pm 12The story isn’t about Joe, Joe aint running for dogcatcher. Its about Obamas answer, “spreading the wealth” learn how to focus DHM
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 3:59 pm 13DH Mom: You actually listen to those Lefty reporters?
And what does that have to do with what Joe asked?
Obama is a socialist, period. He said so.
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:00 pm 14DH Mom:
How would you like it if reporters dug into your past for dirt just because you asked McCain a tough question?

StevefromMKEon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:05 pm 16DH Mom: You do realize that your friends on the left have now unleashed the biggest backlash this side of “spread the wealth around”, don’t you?
Johnny Ed's Babyon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:16 pm 17Joe could be an unrepentant terrorist that calls our country the KKK of USA and the media wouldn’t give a rat’s a** if he had kissed Obama’s ring instead of asking a question.
Do these people really think it is smart for Democrats to tear down a working man? Obama really is the candidate of the elites.
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:21 pm 18To gloat that Joe was torn apart by Obama’s media lacky’s simply is beyond me.
I’m glad DH Mom you are so perfect and holier than the rest of us.
David Marcoeon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:25 pm 19Joe is not a licensed plumber in the state of Ohio…
Because he didn’t finish the paperwork. He works as a plumber and went through the training program.
…he is a tax dodge…
Well, that’s a bold accusation to level at someone. Obviously you got a look at his tax returns to make such a definitive statement.
…and a registered Republican.
So only registered Dems have the right to ask the Messiah questions? Should just get a restraining order for all the Democrat hecklers at McCain/Palin rallies, just to be fair? Oh, wait, there’s that darn First Amendment. Always gets in the way, doesn’t it?
Just another example of McCain’s careful vetting of someone he will choose to discuss.
And another example of how Obama carefully chooses what he wants to say. It’s just like that time he gave such a thoughtful opinion of rural people, who bitterly cling to guns and religion…
Since it’s “another example,” I suppose you have previous ones in mind. Care to share those?
steevyon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:26 pm 20I don’t think you need a license to work in private homes.Only for commercial work.I can’t believe this is even an issue, these people are incredible.

Johnny Ed's Babyon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:29 pm 23What if Joe had come forward with some memos saying Bush didn’t serve all his time in the TANG?
DH Mom would be proclaiming him a hero and organizing a ticker-tape parade in New York City.
But ask a question of a politician, one that is walking through your neighborhood, and suddenly your life is fair game for people that think they are your superiors.
DH Mom, do you want to release his medical records to make sure he’s not Trig’s dad?
laconicon 16 Oct 2008 at 4:37 pm 24I get a tingling feeling up my leg (snicker) that the pendulum has swung out so far in one direction that the inevitable return is happening. In the words of stevefromMKE backlash. its going to be a beautiful thing. Polls are closing up Obama calling out ooh momma. can”t wait
whiskeyon 16 Oct 2008 at 5:03 pm 25McCain needs to run this front and center, every ad, showing that under Obama, the media and his Dem allies will PUNISH by DRIVING OUT OF BUSINESS anyone who dares question “THE ONE.”
He needs to say he will FIGHT Obama and his sneering elites for Joe.
That is what this election is all about.
Johnny Ed's Babyon 16 Oct 2008 at 5:17 pm 26The ad shows people that Obama is a socialist at heart.
The reaction to Joe from his supporters show Obama appeals to the elite.
McCain may have stumbled onto Joe the plumber as another Sarah Palin.
USS Benon 16 Oct 2008 at 5:26 pm 27OT, but the reporter who allegedly “heard” a man say “kill him!” while attending a McCain/Palin rally, is a liar.
The Secret Service investigated the “reporter;s” claim and concluded it was unfounded, finding not one witness to corroborate his claim.
Obama mentioned this rumor as fact during rally’s, and everyone in the MSM reported it.
So much for the insane, rage-filled Republican mobs meme.

Johnny Ed's Babyon 16 Oct 2008 at 5:33 pm 28Ben:
And yet no corrections on any network. Stupid Chris Mathews (redundant I know) repeated it as fact on MSOBC tonight.

And good point! I reckon I’m so used to the Lame-stream Media not repudiating and only repeating lies

McCain’s New Joe the Plumber Ad Calls Obama’s “Tax Cuts” for Non-Taxpayers Welfare | Right Voiceson 16 Oct 2008 at 6:08 pm 31[…] Dirty Harry’s Place… » Yeah, McCain Won The Debate UPDATE: Joe Put Out Of Business […]
Jack Marinoon 16 Oct 2008 at 6:35 pm 32DHM it was Obama that started to talk to Joe the plumber and so what if he isn’t lic. He works for a lic plumber. If he is a republican it doesn’t count, we don’t count. Obama step in a cow pie when he opened his mouth. Joe was telling him how it is in the real world. What right does the Demorats have to extort our money to give to moochers? Let the politicians like Obama and all the money Barney Frank stole from Fannie give it the moochers. All these elected crooks that want to tax us to death should take an 80% pay cuts and give that money to the moochers who don’t work.
Joe the Plumber EXPOSED to the nation the raping Obama and his socialist gangsters are going to put on all of us. But, he isn’t getting elected, too many things around him are falling down. Like this massive voter fraud and the 800,000 he gave to Acorn to throw the primaries against Hillary. Now he thought it was in the bag against McCain.
Joe represents anyone that wants to own a small business and since I owned two I know what he is going through. Its over for Obama
johnmark7on 16 Oct 2008 at 8:14 pm 33Joe the Plumber was a gift from God and may actually change the outcome of the election. I wonder what inspired Joe that day. I believe he was inspired by his God, indeed. He did what McCain wouldn’t or couldn’t do - defined Obama as he really is! He exposed the man. McCain with all his advisers and millions, all his PR people, but it took a humble and burly David to get the job done.
God bless him.
Katoon 16 Oct 2008 at 10:34 pm 34DH’s Mom - Reverend Wright, Obama’s mentor for 20 years, has a tax lien for $48,000.
http://webofdeception.com/revwrightincometaxlien.html
Oh, but I forgot, we’re not allowed to bring him up. Joe the Plumber, whom Obama and McCain have known for barely 24 hours, matters more.
Katoon 16 Oct 2008 at 10:42 pm 35One more thing: Just goes to show that the best (or only) way to force the media to examine something is to bring it up in the debate, again and again. If McCain had mentioned Ayers’ and Wright’s names half as many times as he did Joe the Plumber’s, we’d be seeing a new wave of stories about them.
Jack Marinoon 16 Oct 2008 at 11:39 pm 36The only real racist in America are the liberal demo-rats. Just look at their rallies when the see conservatives and they always talk about it 24/7
Joe is a regular blue collar worker and he speaks as most Americans out there feel and think.
As we get closer, Obama will be slipping and he will lose, just like the rest of the Libs who ran for President. Losers all of them.

This statement does not make any sense. Is McCain supposed to vet people before Obama talks down to them? And are Republicans now forbidden to ask questions of the unicorn rider? Oh, I guess you do believe that.
In the end, what Obama said to Joe matters, not whether Joe is a Republican. But then his entire campaign is built on ignoring what is knowable and going with the flow.
Salon 17 Oct 2008 at 5:29 am 38I now present my credentials to be considered worthy to address That One:
We own our own home and both our cars.
We have very little credit card debt.
I tithe three times more in a month than Joe Biden did last year.
I’ve been married to the same guy for 35 years.
My brushes with the law consist of two speeding tickets.
I have two volunteer jobs: one at the local food bank, one for the county hospital. I have three, if I’m working a show.
Both the places where I go to Mass are mainstream: large suburban parish and the local monastery. The pastor of one is Indian, the older monks at the other escaped from Communist Hungary- they all think America is teh bomb, while yet wishing it could be better still spiritually.
I don’t smoke, barely drink and don’t do drugs.
The ‘I’m not worthy’ part:
I am a Republican.
I went to four colleges, but never graduated.
I’m a housewife.
One of our daughters was ‘punished with a baby’, but they got married and now have three beautiful children, 6, 2 and 3 months. Hmmm, maybe that should be in the other list.
So, DHM, may I approach He Who Must Never Be Questioned?
Bilwickon 17 Oct 2008 at 6:21 am 39First they came for the plumbers. . . .
GeronimoRumplestiltskinon 17 Oct 2008 at 8:19 am 40Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher is Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher from Holland, Ohio. Holland is right next door to Toledo, which is very close to the northern border of Ohio (with Michigan).
Most of the names I see identified as ‘Joe the Plumber’ on the ‘net today are folks that live in Cincinnatti, which is on the southern border of Ohio (with Kentucky), about 200 miles away from Holland. There are quite a few Wurzelbachers in Cincinnatti, and they may be related in some manner or another, but the names that have been identified with “Joe the Plumber” are not, in fact, him.
Growltigeron 17 Oct 2008 at 8:47 am 41Look on the bright side — all the American Bolsheviks did ot Joe the Plumber was destroy his reputation and lose him his job. The Russian Bolsheviks would have shot him or sent him to the Gulag.
Leftists are Leftists. They gain a foothold by deception (95% of Americans will get a tax cut). Once they are in power, they brook no dissent. If Obama wins, Joe can expect a call from the IRS — just like the woman who told Clinton “you suck”, just like the magazine “American Spectator”, just like the guy who attended one of Clinton’s orchestrated town hall meetings and asked a question Clinton didn’t want asked, just like Tim Robbins when he questioned the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
Conservatives are playing softball in the major leagues. McCain follows rules Obama doesn’t have to. The referees (the media) are playing for the Obama team.
If I didn’t love my country, I’d almost be rooting for an Obama victory just to watch what happens to the prostitutes in the media when they realize the harm they’ve done the country and try to say so.
We must not forget Obama pals around with a guy who saw nothing wrong with planting bombs.
Mighty Skipon 17 Oct 2008 at 11:43 am 42Am I the only one who notices DHM never bothers to respond? I suppose she goes and puts her earplugs back and and blindfolds herself after trolling.
I mean, afterall, The One will take care of all her problems so there is no need to think.
