McCain Demands ‘LA Times’ Release Tape Of Obama/Ayers/Khalidi

Posted by Dirty Harry on Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

LGF:

The LA Times is Hiding an Incriminating Video of Barack Obama at a Party with Radical Palestinian Activists and Bill Ayers That’s right - in a closely contested election, the Los Angeles Times is concealing a video showing Barack Obama at a going-away party for former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi, attended by radical Palestinian activists and former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. …

The John McCain campaign is demanding that the Los Angeles Times release the videotape of Barack Obama toasting former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi, at a party attended by radical Palestinian activists and former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Contact the L.A. Times and demand they release the tape.

Good heavens even Ben Smith at Politico couldn’t spin this into a story about a desperate move on McCain’s part or something to do with Sarah Palin’s wardrobe:

L.A. Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan wouldn’t discuss the decision not to release the tape in detail.

“When we reported on the tape six months ago, that was our full report,” she said, and asked, “Does Politico release unpublished information?”

The answer to that question is yes — Politico and most news outlets constantly make available videos and documents, after describing them in part, which is why the Times’ decision not to release the video is puzzling. My instinct, and many reporters’, is to share as much source material as possible.

This is grossly irresponsible on the part of the L.A. Times and John McCain and all fair minded media types must make an issue of it.

A struggling newspaper wouldn’t want hundreds of thousands of hits to its web site, would it?

  2. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:01 pm 2

Not when Obama says if you diss me you ain’t getting any love after…..

  3. Troyon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:06 pm 3

Hell… they’d photochop McCain in a hot tub with David Duke — why won’t they release the tape?

  4. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:13 pm 4

Because from what I have heard Obama is hemoragging Jewish voters and if this video came out he would look like well what he is….an anti semetic putz. Anti Semetism does not fly here…..

  5. laconicon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:23 pm 5

Is there anyone left at this rag to release it. They just fired 75 more staffers and have gone through editors like Clinton went through interns. I cancelled my subscription 2 years ago and they kept delivering it, probably to keep registered subscription numbers inflated. I take out the sports section and trash the rest, this story is typical of what they do.

Love the cover on the polls. ” Gallup poll narrows slightly” ….from 5% two days ago to 2% today is slightly? Where I went to school thats a closing of over 5o% of the spread.

Grossly irresponsible? HAHAHA!!! Are you sure you aren’t running the McCain campaign? How bout agenda-driven jackassery.

  7. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:29 pm 7

I AM JOE THE PLUMBER..and thats all I have to say bout’ that.

  8. Hurfon 28 Oct 2008 at 5:56 pm 8

What’s the big deal? McCain handed over hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to Khalidi’s organization. He was never a PLO spokesman and he favors a two-state solution. The only people who find him radioactive are the far-right Daniel Pipes crowd, and they consider Palestinians to be subhuman in general. McCain didn’t seem to have a problem with Khalidi until he fell way behind in the polls and starting reaching around for desperate smears.

HARRY HERE: Hmm…? then why not release the tape? Obviously it will mitigate our concerns about Khalidi calling Israel a racist state.

  9. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:06 pm 9

Hurfy how much does Obama pay to troll on sites? You astroturfer you, we know what your doing and get what you are about. We get it, YOU think we are bitter clingers. Awesome for you! However we aren’t stupid. You are spreading lies, with nothing to back em up and your pulling evil doer thug tactics. Now please go find a place where people are really stupid like at KOS or Huffpo. Run along little leftist tard…run along. Go spread your evil somewhere else.

  10. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 6:10 pm 10

McCain handed over hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to Khalidi’s organization

Well if that’s true then the McCain deserves to lose and good riddance. I’m done with these PATHETIC RINOS.

  11. thebookkeeperon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:11 pm 11

hurf, get a fing job and go away. I, for one, will not be spreading my wealth with the likes of you.

  12. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:15 pm 12

Gee David how loyal of you. Believe the GD troll without him even linking to a relevant and respected site that proves it? Can I say knock it off with the hard right knee jerk crap which is what jerks like Hurfbert want you do?

  13. Danielon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:26 pm 13

Stephanie, you got David’s number. An insulting hurf troll shows up and David pulls his tail between his hindquarters and runs. Pathetic.

Hurf, let me second DH. If it’s no “big deal” then why bury it? Why hide it?

It couldn’t be because a lot of those undecideds might actually turn away from “The One”, or that some of those on the fence Dems who are holding their noses to vote for the Obamessiah might just stay home or maybe (Lord, please, please, please, please let this happen) go vote for Nader?

If it’s no “big deal” then let the public see it. For now it is still a “government of the people, by the people, for the people” and not “of The One, for The One, and by The One.”

    Not yet, at least.

  14. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 6:29 pm 14

C’mon guys. Look it up yourselves. Prove that troll wrong, and prove to me McCain isn’t the most PATHETIC excuse for a Republican you’ve ever seen.

Giving grants to PLO terrorists! P-A-T-H-E-T-H-I-C.

  15. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:44 pm 15

Because David your so smart and such a loyal guy why don’t you look it up, or are you also wishing for an Obama presidency because you somehow think out of the west Ronald Reagan will come riding across the plain on his white stallion El Alamein. Give me a break. I know thats whats behind all of the harp strumming. All of you people are still seething because Rudy, Mitt, Fred and my dog didn’t get the nomination.
I never heard of Mac doing that. Mac has always been a STAUNCH supporter of Israel look up his GD record or can’t you? You rely on others to do your research? Quite the interesting attitude. Fits a leftist give me a handout I’m too lazy to do it myself. Geez.

  16. Ohio Wolverine momon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:44 pm 16

Obama’s minions have retorted of late that “McCain attended an ACORN event;” love how those libs try to paint our guys into a corner. They don’t invite most Republicans to theNAACP Freedom Dinner and that ilk, and when some who they gave a little love to, Johnny Mac, tries to bridge the gap, all he did was give them something to throw back in his face.

McCain won’t learn, unless he listens to his VP; but let’s hope that our future leaders don’t let themselve be caught in that trap of meeting the opponent on their turf. Don’t go, and make it clear why.

And now that the “racist” card has been overplayed (FINALLY) we should have leaders who will do just that.Though the Governor, after learning her lesson MUCH faster than our lead candidate, has displayed why she is “Sarah-Cuda”—can’t wait to see her full-court press with those Washington types.

  17. Stephanieon 28 Oct 2008 at 6:45 pm 17

Oh and by the way, David way to be manipulated by the Leftist troll. Wow…..no questions just leap to the gutter with him. Hurfbert must be laughing at how easily you were dupped.

  18. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 6:53 pm 18

    Stephanie,

first of all, my loyalty isn’t that cheap. I am staunchly conservative and PRO-ISRAEL.

Second, of COURSE I looked it up. You think I take anything that comes out of a Leftist’s mouth at face value? I ASSUME they’re lying to me. If they told me water was wet I’d double check it.

McCain attacks evangelicals as “agents of intolerance” and then gives money to PLO terrorists! LOL. RINOs can shove it up they @ss.

  19. Kiton 28 Oct 2008 at 6:55 pm 19

    laconic,

    http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

If the poll keeps closing, then that is GOOD!

  20. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 6:57 pm 20

    Here you go:

“During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.

A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi’s Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, “West Bank: CPRS” on page 14 of this PDF.)

The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi’s group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of “sociopolitical attitudes.”

    PATHETIC

  21. Aitch748on 28 Oct 2008 at 7:05 pm 21

So David’s going all Kathleen Parker on McCain because of (1) an astroturfing troll and (2) an article from the Huffington Post. I guess David is one of those people who says he’ll hold his nose and vote for McCain but who insists on badmouthing McCain to every undecided voter who crosses his path.

  22. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 7:07 pm 22

Yeah, I’m the problem here. Not McCain.

  23. Kiton 28 Oct 2008 at 7:14 pm 23

    David123456,

    Huffington Post?

I’d trust the New York Times I use the clean up my dog’s poo before I’d trust the Huffington Post.

(That was rhetorical, I don’t really use the NY Times, I use a local newspaper that endorsed Obama)

  24. Bennett Marcoon 28 Oct 2008 at 7:19 pm 24

    Kit,

I think it would be worth it to subscribe to the NY Times solely to use it for the purpose you mentioned. (I’d do it, but I don’t have a dog.)

  25. Kiton 28 Oct 2008 at 7:26 pm 25

    Marco,

I have a puppy. She chews on every d*** thing in the house. Even me sometimes.

  26. Bennett Marcoon 28 Oct 2008 at 7:32 pm 26

    Kit,

    What kind of dog?

  27. laconicon 28 Oct 2008 at 7:45 pm 27

    Kit,
Gallup, “race tightens slightly, McCain up 2, Obama down one”. Just the headline shows their prejudice. It is within the margin of error and is a huge turnaround in just one day. The story for the week should be “Obama looses 7pt.lead”. Because he has.

As I posted earlier today when talking about Spike Lee. Lee’s last great predicilitation (Spike would love my spelling)was the New York Knicks. The Knicks were up and coasting in the playoffs and he shot his mouth off to Reggie Miller, up by 6 with the ball, and 16.4 seconds to play. Reggie Miller shot 8 points in 8.9 seconds and the Knicks lost the series. McCain is Reggie Miller and he now has the ball. It ain’t over till its over.

  28. PerfectTommyon 28 Oct 2008 at 8:19 pm 28

David, there is this new concept in the voting process called “choosing the lesser of two evils”. Heard of it? You see, sometimes adults have to make difficult choices. And the choice between Obama and McCain for an conservative adult will not be difficult.

  29. PerfectTommyon 28 Oct 2008 at 8:20 pm 29

So, yeah, you David are a big part of the problem.

  30. Scotton 28 Oct 2008 at 8:24 pm 30

  33. Johnny Ed's Babyon 28 Oct 2008 at 8:35 pm 33

    David:

What was the context of any funds sent to that organization?

Who had decision making power in the organization. Just McCain? A board? How many people had input?

Was this money for a specific purpose? Was there a written proposal? Who actually had control of the money? Was there a followup audit?

The left (Huffington) keeps saying McCain praised Acorn a couple years ago. But the speech was to about 20 organizations, Acorn being one of them. It was to an umbrella group, not Acorn.

So if you fall so fast for that from Huiffington you look like a rino yourself.

  34. David123456on 28 Oct 2008 at 8:58 pm 34

What was the context of any funds sent to that organization?

Now you sound like the Leftards excusing Obama palling around with terrorists. Except you’re doing it for McCain. Out of context! LOL! RINO’s will do that to you.

  35. Johnny Ed's Babyon 28 Oct 2008 at 9:15 pm 35

No, i want to know what the facts are about the money.

Like the example of McCain speaking to Acorn. When I found out more information it turned out he wasn’t talking to Acorn the way the Obama flacks were saying.

Facts matter and I’m not going to take Ariana’s word for anything approaching the truth. Are you saying Huffington is going to give you the facts without shading it to make McCain look bad.

Hell, our government has been giving the PLO money as has the country of Israel. Do you think maybe context is important in those cases too?

The thing people like whiskey don’t know or choose to ignore is that Republicans almost always lose women just as Democrats almost always lose men.

The key for Republicans is marital status - married woman go Republican while Democrats get the unmarried women.

The key for McCain is to keep the margin low. And say what you want about Palin, she appeals more to married women than single.

  38. Carolynon 28 Oct 2008 at 11:18 pm 38

    PENTAGON PAPERS.

Nancy Sullivan - and the LA Slimes? If you both are so stupid that these two words I have just typed above do not make you both comprehend the disgusting hypocrisy of your refusal to release the Khalidi tapes, then you are truly the living, walking brain dead.

  39. Stephanieon 29 Oct 2008 at 6:17 am 39

Hey I voted GOP when I was single, engaged and now married. And will to the day I die. Papa raised me right. And most single women I know in DC who stay single have issues with keeping men around and then they never can admit that the common denominator in the math equation of love is THEM! As in gee ya think YOU might be the problem and not the men? NOOOOO ITS THEIR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats usually the answer. Anyway….heh…

  40. useyourfreakinbrainvoteforjohnmccainon 29 Oct 2008 at 4:03 pm 40

Let’s cut through all this bulls**t. The LA Times can ask the tape’s owner for permission to show the contents. If permission is refused, they can legally publish the entire transcript anyhow, word for word. Doubt the cowards will do either. Too bad, because it could vindicate Obama as easily as it could condemn Obama. Who said “…and the truth shall set you free”? Apparently, not the LA Times. So who will carry the torch for the public’s right to know? Will the Obama toadies at CNN press the issue? Yeah, right. Maybe MSNBC’s Olbermann can throw in his support to “expose the truth at all costs”. Forget it. He claims he’s not a tool of the left, and he’s not. He’s…. just….a tool. Maybe we can count on some support from Maddow? After all, she’s more of a man than Keith is. Don’t hold your breath. Seems like there’s only one person who can retrieve the tape and expose the truth. Sounds like a job for… Gordon Liddy.

Stephanie, totally agree with you and the other non-racist patriots out there!!

The trouble is, we will NEVER be able to convince these libs otherwise.

    Why??

Because they heard what they wanted to hear: Vote for Obama & theres free money for all. Stop.
Everything said by both sides after that to them is fluff and their minds wont be changed. Obama could be filmed live NOW with Bin Laden and Ayers breaking bread & it wouldnt matter.

They heard theres free money coming. Case closed.

Im not waving any white flags either. The poor & lazy wont be changed. I still think we’ll prevail!!
