McCAIN TAKES THE LEAD — McCAIN TAKES THE LEAD — McCAIN TAKES THE LEAD

And the polls they are a-closing!!!!!

ZOGBY SATURDAY: McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday poll. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all…

This thing’s been volatile as hell and those wild swings in some tracking polls along with leads anywhere from 2 to 15 points doesn’t mean McCain will win, but it does mean anything can happen.

Hey, today I like Zogby! Cuz, Wednesday he sucked.

I’ll tell you, my issue with Obama isn’t so much the politics. I’m not dismissing our policy differences but if the American people want to try a little Swedish style economics, that’s up to them and nothing that can’t be undone.

What I’m having trouble reconciling is how a corrupt media has made it possible for a man who’s repeatedly — again and again – lied about his relationships with racists, anti-Semites, convicted felons, and terrorists to come thisclose to the presidency.

Obama is not wired right.

We can only hope and pray that the wise and wonderful American people come to their senses over the weekend.

I do not lie, do not exaggerate when I say that literally every day I’ve been praying… no, really… praying that the Lord see fit to move people’s hearts to vote for McCain and the GOP and save us from That One and his merry band of redistributors. Call me a religious nut for that if you like, but I’m definitely hoping for divine intervention on this one.

  2. Tommy Von 31 Oct 2008 at 7:09 pm 2

It’s a one day poll, it’s a move in the right direction, and I think Obama’s actions the last week show that he saw something like this coming.

But remember, we have to get out the vote enough to not only win, but win by a large enough margin to beat the voter fraud.

We must get out the vote.

We must get out the vote.

We must get out the vote.

    SWEET!!! Stephanie was right!!! LOL!

  4. Dirty Harryon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:14 pm 4

Tommy V: This poll will help get out the vote. This is the juice we needed. A poll showing McCain up has been “The Inevitable Ones” worst nightmare.

    DH,

No, I agree. But a part of me feels the same way about polls I do about critics… if you want to believe the positive ones, you have to agree with the negative ones too.

But yes, I would much rather see a poll with McCain up one point than behind.

I don’t mean to be a downer, perhaps just a little defensiveness to stay focused on Tuesday. I’m actually trying to hammer home the positive. By the way, I was in the trades this week. A nice mention,

  7. Bennett Marcoon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:21 pm 7

Oh, Yeah! 9th-inning comeback! Let’s keep the rally going!

  8. Dirty Harryon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:23 pm 8

Tommy V — Congrats on the mention. No small thing.

My point is that this poll is just what our side needed. It may well be a few points off but if our side smells a chance we’ll turn out even more.

This is adenaline, not the race.

  9. Jack Marinoon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:32 pm 9

It will come out after that McCain was neck and neck or even a bit ahead with Obama, but the media didn’t want us to see the truth. Their Messiah is going to lose. When a Republican is this close to a Democrats who has out spent all past candidates in the past and he isn’t 10 or 15 points ahead at this late date. The socialist extortionist is going to lose BIG TIME.

So many people just really don’t understand how this thing works. The media is distracting all of you. Every time Obama or Biden opens his mouth he puts his foot in it. The Stock market took a dump and he wants to raise capital gains 39%, that really goes over big with all the people with the money to keep this nation in motion. Democrats are the dumbest idiots when it come to economics, just look at what Pelosi did to a robust economy in two years. Now, Obama says we are selfish if we don’t pay our taxes, who is this loser and his followers are all brain dead, they eat all the fried ice cream that pours out of the media.

By Monday McCain will be in the lead and what will the Obama media do? You leftist will never get it, America is a conservative country and no one is going to take our money and give it to the moochers.

No one will cut off the funding while our kids are over seas fighting a war. Democrats need to be voted out of office, so we can fix the mess they created since 1914.

As far as this broad saying if Obama loses there will be another civil war? Who is going to fight us? Liberals are all pussies, they don’t have the stomach to spill their blood for their sick ideals. They only have the stomach to elect extortionist to raise taxes so they ‘feel’ good about saving the world. The only thing they can do is call us conservatives, bigots or racist, wow that will cripple our movement.

McCain is going to win and we all must go to the polls and vote for Mac and pull that level and say. bite me Obama, pelosi, reid now go and retire.

This is good. GOOD! Zogby was the polster that the 04 election right. BUT………..Play like you are behind. Tomorrow I get up, get my starbucks clean kitchen go to Gym and spend rest of day at the election office calling Republicans to vote. Until my voice gives out. We all have to pitch in…all of us.
We are out doing Rove’s numbers in GOTV like Supra said and Florida is really WILD right now. Mac has been outstanding on the speaking circuit and Sarah has her own FOX news reporter now. I am so pumped…..

Me tonight. The piccies with shotgun were not up to my standards since hubby was being a poohead and wouldn’t stand to take them.

    Kinda funny though……heh……..

  12. Billon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:34 pm 12

Like you, DH, its not so much about the policies for me - although I disagree with them totally - but more the “unknown” factor concerning Obama. If this was Biden, or HRC, in the top of the ticket, at least we would have an idea of what to expect and could mentally prepare. With BHO there’s so much of an unknown factor there’s almost no way to properly prepare.

Its like knowing a storm is coming. You can see it from miles away. But until it gets to you, you have no idea how bad it actually might be. With BHO, that factor is increased X10.

  13. Tommy Von 31 Oct 2008 at 7:35 pm 13

I think saying, yes, I agree, is probably more clear. So, yes, I do agree.

It might be delusional, or my bias, or both, but I still just don’t see this country voting this guy in.

According to the AP (also courtesy from Drudge) 1 in 7 are still persuadable.

    1 in 7?

Remember, it only takes 1% to change to make a 2% difference.

I am having dinner with a very liberal friend Wednesday night. I wonder which one of us will be picking up the check.

If they didn’t change their Dem-Rep allocation this is confirmation of a move that we have been seeing in the last week.

Of course at MSNBC they are still hanging their decorations for an Obama victory party Tuesday night.

Chris Mathews is making the punch and Olberman is baking his very special brownies.

I predict Maddow and Olberman will have been partying for 8 hours by the time the polls close and will not realize McCain won until they recover from their hangovers on Thursday.

  16. Johnny Ed's Babyon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:39 pm 16

The other thing to remember is that weekend polling is usally bad for Republicans so the numbers may change on Monday. But if McCain’s ads are saturating he should hold up.

  17. Johnny Ed's Babyon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:43 pm 17

    Steph:

Are you sure there wasn’t alcohol involved? That’s exactly what I remember the world looked like back when I would over imbibe.

  18. David Marcoeon 31 Oct 2008 at 7:44 pm 18

The most trustworthy information that can be had–bits from internal pollsters on both sides and drilling down into the data–tells us that McCain and Obama are in a dead heat, at about 46 to 46, with 8% undecided. Now, using the theory that we get a 2% B.E. from the undecided category, that puts McCain at 48, leaving 6%. Assuming 1% goes to third-party candidates, that leaves 5. Out of that, we get expect a 2:1 split for McCain, giving him 3.3 and Obama 1.7, which means McCain gets 51.3% and Obama 47.7%. Allowing for 3 points to go to Obama because of fraud, then Obama 50.7%.

Take that only as my non-expert extrapolation/interpretation of the data and not as a prediction of any kind. Moreover, I’m sure the left-wing posters here will dispute it. So, in any case, take it with a grain of salt.

I want a McCain win so I can watch MSNBC all day Wednesday.

It will look like Soviet TV when Stalin died. Sad music all day and Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd dressed in black.

Chris Mathews will have to walk with a limp because of the pain running down his leg.

Getting extra ammo over the weekend, just in case. ;)

  23. Plissken79on 31 Oct 2008 at 8:02 pm 23

Actually, JEB, most Soviet citizens did not have TVs in 1953, it would be until the 1960s that anyone but Communist party members had TV sets. Interesting, the mood of even many Communist party officials after the death of tyrant from Gori was relief they had survived.

Anyway, if it is not too late for McCain to close the distance (and it looks like he is), I would not want to be anywhere near Chicago on November 5

When Stalin died the members of the Politburo were like Bill Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral.

When they were in private they were laughing and high fiving each other in relief.

When they were in public they had sad faces.

I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!!! (no I’m not drunk)….

Also, I love that dancing figure and it made me laugh out loud and my 12 year old came running in the room….LOL.

Was listening to O’Reilly tonight and he had on Frank Luntz who did a focus group thingie for a bunch of undecideds for the Obama infomercial. Around half remained “undecided” (c’mon, you KNOW that means they’re voting McCain) and the other half were split, 7 decided after they saw it to go for Obama and 6 decided to go for McCain! So it wasn’t totally persuasive!

    Whooo hoooo!

  40. Johnny Ed's Babyon 31 Oct 2008 at 9:32 pm 40

    Jill:

    the Obama infomercial

That was listed in the TV Guide as ‘A Very Special Barry’s World’ episode.

I heard a woman on the radio say if that’s the way he’s going to spend his money she didn’t want him wasting her money.

  41. Billon 31 Oct 2008 at 9:33 pm 41

I saw that Luntz interview, or the tail end of it anyways. That putz Luntz, discussing the first 100 days in office of the new president, came right out and said Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office. NOT “the new president”. But “Barack Obama’s”.

He just assumes it will be Barack. No question in his mind (such as it may be.)

  42. Jillon 31 Oct 2008 at 9:34 pm 42

    Johnny, lol.

Oh and remember, the pollsters who have been “messing” with the polls to make it look one way or another for their own candidate, NOW want to get it as accurate as possible so they are considered legit next time around.

So I trust the polls more NOW than anything beforehand….

  43. Jillon 31 Oct 2008 at 9:35 pm 43

Oh yes, I heard Frank admit the other day that he thinks Obama will win. Frank’s been wrong before! ;-)

Keep this in mind, all the polls have been dicking around with us in order to sway the election for Obama the SUN KING I . By Monday all the polls will be truthful because they all want to be right and the one the closest to pick the winner. No one remembers the polls of the last few weeks, only on Monday and Tuesday.

As I have been saying its has all been a dog and pony show to sell Obama, but America isn’t buying what he is selling. Mac has been in the lead all along, how much is anyone guess. Now they are tied and we are 4 days away.

This is like a fixed boxing match that the Boxing Commission got wind of and they are telling the one fighter not to throw the fight. Monday will test the nerves of America and Tues it will be too late to change another vote.

  49. Joachim Arnerholmon 01 Nov 2008 at 7:04 am 49

Hey! “Swedish-style economics” is actually more to the right than Obama. Here in Sweden Senator Obama would fit quite nicely in the former communist party. And I don’t say this as a slander, just stating facts. So no more Scandi-bashing, thanks!

  50. Sooner Galon 01 Nov 2008 at 8:35 am 50

Sign me up for being an optimist. For awhile there, I was feeling pretty depressed with nothing but Obama, The One We’ve Been Waiting For, dominating every news channel except Fox, the only network daring to criticize Obama, and you’ve seen what that got them from His Majesty.

But, somehow, through all the Obama coronations, I’ve felt deep down that there are more people out there, like those who post here, who didn’t fall under the Obama spell and stuck to their conservative views and common sense.

The poll shown here is very encouraging but if you’d like to read McCain’s own team’s internals and comments, you can find them on Fox under The Urgent Queue - From Our Desk to Yours. This will really make you happy.

  51. Kiton 01 Nov 2008 at 8:45 am 51

But a part of me feels the same way about polls I do about critics… if you want to believe the positive ones, you have to agree with the negative ones too.

No, you don’t, because if WHY the polls are wrong.

The polls are skewed FOR Democrats, so if a Republican is winning in one by 1 point in a poll that dishonestly inflates Democrat numbers, its really probably 10 points.

  53. Zundfolgeon 01 Nov 2008 at 9:45 am 53

Oh and as for an Obama loss sparking another civil war? I say BRING IT BITCHES … Republicans have all the guns and 3/4 of the US military on our side anyway.

A quick, bloody, dirty little civil war might settle the liberal problem once and for all :D
