Why McCain-Palin Have A Chance

1. Pollsters weight their national polls heavily towards Democrats. The most conservative weighting is used by Rasmussen. He assumes 7% more Democrats will turn out than Republicans but thus far nothing we’re seeing in early voting backs this up.

2. Mason-Dixon is the best state pollster in the country and just did their last round of battlegrounds. Other than OH, MO and NV, Obama leads but can’t get above 50%.

PA: 47-43 Obama — FL 47-45 Obama — NV 47-43 Obama

All of these are within the margin of error, well within striking distance, and leave a large number of undecideds on the table. We can only pray they are bitter clingers and that this stunning revelation gets out over the next couple of days…

It appears as though Bill Ayers’ Friend is determined to bankrupt the coal industry.

Are you listening PA?

    Detroit News just endorsed McCain…
now, if the audio of the SF interview from January17th can get someplay, where Obama states he will bankrupt the coal industry….

It’s annoying the hell out of me that most of the people I know think Barry has it sewn-up. They all voted for McCain so their poor outlook didn’t have any impact pass pissing me off, but I can only hope every conservative gets out and votes despite that feeling.

    We, indeed, can win this.

Remember - this is all part of the MSM surge for obambi in these last few days. Nothing but positive coverage for him and nothing but negative coverage for Mac and Sarah.

Here is a good article from Flopping Aces:

    http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/10/31/biggest-question-of-2008-election-will-chris-matthews-cry-like-a-little-girl

    Here is the money quote:

“History shows that Senator Barack Obama is an incredibly charismatic man, but he has never led, and thus even if elected President will not lead. Almost half of America will vote for him, but they do not follow his lead when he calls for national unity and bi-partisanship (confirm this by reading the partisan hate at Daily Kos, Huffington Post, or Democratic Underground!). When he won the nomination he had the choice to unite his party (which was evenly divided between himself and Sen Clinton), and instead of choosing to do the hard thing-have Sen Clinton be his Vice President and try to work with her-he chose to blow off the chance for party unity. He’s promised a new kind of politics, a spirit of bi-partisanship, and instead he has led half of America into a frenzy that (should he lose) has police forces around the nation on alert for riots. He’s promised to CHANGE America rather than go to Washington and change DC so that it represents America.”

    Good stuff

I hope PA is listening about coal. I can assure you Southwest Virginia is not. When Biden made the anti-coal remark, I emailed it to every paper in this coal rich region, including one I used to work at. Only one ran the story.

Just for kicks I sent that link to every office of the United Coal Miners of America union asking why it is not on their website. I’ll be ignored of course by the most corrupt union in America.

VA is too close to call. Don’t know about NC. Lots of Yankees have moved into both states. Having fouled their nests up “nawth”, they come down here and try to screw up our state(s).

Take into consideration the voters who want to appear hip and cool who SAY they’re voting Obama to impress but will either stay home or vote McCain.

What about those of us who check caller ID and/or won’t answer polls?

Morris says the undecideds are not undecided; that they’ve decided not to vote for Obama and are trying to decide whether to stay home or vote McCain.

The unrelenting pro Obama drumbeat of the media has caused a “spiral of silence”. People don’t want to be attacked by the lunatics on the left, so they say nothing when the Lefties start pontificating. Salesman friend of mine reported this at last week’s sales meeting - staff split up. Lefties at one end of the table, righties on the other. The Lefties carried on; the righties just sat there. The lefties probably thought they agreed. This is the same mistake the media is making.

That said, Tass and Pravda (MSM) have done a good job. Imagine how Bark Obummer would be doing in PA and WVA if the Pennsylvanians and the West (by God) Virginians knew he was going to destroy the coal industry.

Hey guys do you listen? Mac is polling ten points ahead of Allen’s numbers in VA and Obama is nonexistent in the rest of Virginia. No worries about NC. Please trust me on that. PA is going to go for Mac. So will Ohio. MO is, IA, MN, even Michigan is up in the air. No worries guys. Lets get ready to have a long but awesome night on Tuesday!

RedState had a ‘diary’ of a Hillary supporter who’d worked for Obama. The diary revealed that 80% - EIGHTY PERCENT - of people refused to respond to pollsters about whom they would vote for.

80%. People, there is no way on God’s earth you can interpret that staggering amount as anything but clear proof the people aren’t voting for Obama. However, the media and the leftists can’t see this ‘proof’ because it’s cloaked in silence. Their contempt arrogantly interprets this silence as assent. It’s not.

There’s another thing hidden in this silence - anger. NO American stomachs being bullied into silence. Their fathers and husbands, sons and friends laid down their lives for the citizen’s right to vote for whomever he wants. Thus, I can’t think of anything which would enrage that citizen more than being threatened (’you’re racist’) for doing just that. 80%? Folks, that’s a lot anger out there.

I keep saying it (sorry, Carolyn’s on her soapbox again) that the silence of the people is masking a deadly anger I am absolutely certain is going to erupt on November 4th against the media and leftists.

I have no doubts McCain will carry VA. Southwest Virginia has been blinded by the Dems for generations. It is almost a religion here.

Steph and Major and Carolyn and Ohio Mom and Wankette and Emily and Growl and Jack and Bennet and JEB and all the rest -

I will be lifting my glass and toasting you all!! I will be thinking that not only did WE win, but America as well. I will be thinking that for all the bi-partisanship and Global Warming nonsense from McCain, our country will be led by a true patriot who was willing to die for her. And backed up by someone who was willing and joyful to let her son serve his country and loves America so much that she was willing to let the worst we have to offer dig through her trash - while smiling and hugging her family to her heart.

I will toast you all and cry as well as I am a sentimental fool. And just for good measure, I might have to put on some Lee Greenwood, followed by AC/DC.

God bless each and every one of you.

    Supramom et al.

I have an expensive bottle of Remy-Martin Cognac (XO) that I bought in Dubai in June 2003 while traveling back from my first time in Iraq. It is still unopened 5+ years later. I strongly believe that I will open it on Tuesday night (or Wednesday night depending how late I am up). I will be toasting Mac and Sarah and all of you.

  17. wolfpackon 02 Nov 2008 at 1:18 pm 17

what is BHO’s problem with the good people of western PA? first he calls them bitter clingers when he was fundraising in SF, then he tells the SF chronicle that he will bankrupt the coal industry. Mac needs to go up with an ad by TODAY juxtaposing both comments made in SF about PA. the only thing that would be better is if the Steelers were playing the Niners on MNF. That would seal the deal in PA.

As for the remaining undecided voters, who are overwhelmingly white, they will go for McCain not because they are bitter racists who hate black men, but because they hate Arrogant a-holes of any and all persuasions!

I expect my home state of NC to remain red (wolfpack red, thank you!) and pull it out for Mac!!!

  18. Major Grahamon 02 Nov 2008 at 1:24 pm 18

Just checking some other site - Mac and Sarah are talking about the bankrupting the coal industry comment by obambi.

    wolfpack:

I think the WASHINGTON Redskins will do nicely as a subtle reminder of what’s at stake for Western PA.

This is a huge opportunity for the McCain campaign — you’ll have your target audience glued to the set for Steelers v. Skins on MNF. They’ve to got make a clean-coal spot and run it as many times as possible. Not to do so would be political malpractice.

  21. Glennon 02 Nov 2008 at 1:37 pm 21

I think it will be much closer than anyone could have hoped, but Obama will still win. Even after the recent “movement,” Obama remains so far ahead in so many states that if Mac wins EVERY SINGLE ONE of the “toss up” states, he still falls far short of the 270. Note that this INLCUDES PA, FL and OH. If Mac takes ALL THREE of those states, Obama still wins.

For Mac to win, he has to come back in at least two or three decent-sized states that (as of Sunday) poll strongly in Obama’s favor. If he pulls that off, it proves the polls were totally worthless. And Jack should get Karl Rove’s job at FNC.

It all comes down to the dishonest media. True socialists all, they believe they must defeat the capitalists “by any means necessary.” Facts and honesty, as any postmodern stooge will tell you, are bourgeoisie hangups.

There are so many voter out there, regular folk with kids and jobs, who form their opinions based on sound bites overheard on ABC News or a couple of paragraphs from the front page of a newspaper hastily read on a bus or train.

    These people believe:

    1. Obama is a moderate.
    2. Obama will lower taxes for the vast majority of people.
    3. Obama has some sort of experience doing something really great, because, after all, so many people are so excited about him.

    McCain, on the other hand:

    1. Is basically like Bush.
    2. Wants to give tax breaks to oil companies but not regular people.
    3. Is too old.

How do they “know” these things? They heard them on the news. About 8,000 times.
    3.

  22. Stephanieon 02 Nov 2008 at 1:51 pm 22

Glenn please your not an expert. If the people I know who actually dunno WORK FOR THE CAMPAIGN saw this little spewing here you left they would laugh at you. Stand back take a good hard look at yourself. Stop the bs. Your not helping anyone and your merely projecting your own miserys on us…there isn’t anything to be miseable about. God man. Go get some happy pills. I heard Zoloft is excellent.

  23. Major Grahamon 02 Nov 2008 at 2:01 pm 23

    Glenn,

Seriously brother - cheer up. Wait until after Tuesday to feel either up or down. I know it is hard when you look at anything on the MSM - and that includes Fox. But there are too many weird things going on. Maybe I am totally off-base, but I think Mac is going to pull this off.
Here is a pretty interesting article I saw someone on another site had linked. Makes some interesting observations about the media and their motivations. I think the author is right - they really do want to be part of a “historic” election:

    http://www.gaypatriot.net/2008/11/02/media-bias-in-favor-of-obamathey-want-to-cover-an-historic-eleciton/

  24. skepticalon 02 Nov 2008 at 5:07 pm 24

Yes, and Bush brought down energy prices finally. He just had to wreck the economy. Guess I’ll be able to keep my house warm this winter after all. Now if only ramen noodles didn’t have so much wheat in them.

  25. Mike Kriskeyon 02 Nov 2008 at 5:59 pm 25

    Hey, skeptical–

I’m not sure if you’re being serious or not. If you are, can you tell me how you think Bush wrecked the economy?

    Thanks.

  26. Glennon 02 Nov 2008 at 6:35 pm 26

    Mike -

For leftists, the belief that Bush “wrecked the economy” is a sacred article of faith, just like Bush “destroyed America’s reputation abroad.” They don’t need facts or logic - it’s a substitute for religion, like Obama worship.

What’s amazing is that assuming Obama will be president next year (a good assumption even after the poll movements) and his tax increases and other mistakes throw the economy into a true tailspin in 2010, it wll all be blamed on . . .

    George W. Bush.

The speeches almost write themselves! You see, President Obama was FORCED to raise taxes only because George Bush had so wrecked the economy. He and his fellow republicans wrecked havock that even Barack the Wise could not have known about when he was running.

And why has unemployment topped 16-percent as of July 2010? We know the answer: George Bush.

  27. LarryDon 03 Nov 2008 at 6:57 am 27

I have caller-ID. I don’t answer calls from people I don’t know, and I sure don’t answer calls when the number doesn’t even show up. Telemarketing has irrevocably changed phone courtesy.

The MSM had been fiddling the polls for years. This cycle is worse than usual. And at least some of the Democrat’s activist groups have been getting in on it, which means the the degree of bias varies. “They” say Obama has a commanding lead. They lie. They want to discourage you from voting. Don’t let them.
