Obama Tries On Parser-In-Chief

Posted by Dirty Harry on Sunday, November 9th, 2008

obama-ohno-1.jpg

Our President-elect has just learned that voting present is no longer an option and eloquence without clarity is still horsesh*t:

President-elect Obama has spoken to the president of Poland about relations between the two countries but didn’t make a commitment on the multibillion-dollar missile defense program undertaken by the Bush administration, an Obama aide said Saturday.

That contrasts with a statement by Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who said Obama told him the missile defense project would continue.

The U.S. and Poland signed an agreement in August for basing American missiles in Poland as part of a shield against possible missile attacks from Iran.

A missile shield set up so close to its borders has been a sore point with Russia and has served as another dent in its battered relationship with the U.S.

You always know where President Bush stands and that’s a priceless commodity in a dangerous world. Some foreign leaders may not like Bush but there was never any confusion over what he meant.

Obama’s never led before. His history is that of a man who rose to the top through the dark art of allowing people to hear what they want to hear. That’s not going to work anymore and for all our sake Obama had best learn that quickly. Good leaders leave a wake of disappointment behind them — which beats a wake of disaster.

This is not a good sign. I hope for all of our sake we have not elected a weak president.

  2. kishkeon 09 Nov 2008 at 10:17 am 2

I think the guy is wise not to make commitments before becoming president.

  3. Kiton 09 Nov 2008 at 10:21 am 3

    Obama,

You wanted it, you got it.

  4. Bennett Marcoon 09 Nov 2008 at 10:30 am 4

Ah well, you know, this missile defense stuff doesn’t work and is based on “junk” science anyway — not on real science like global warming or the fact that if we had only grown enough spare-parts fetuses, Christopher Reeve would be alive and walking today.

  5. Carolynon 09 Nov 2008 at 10:36 am 5

Remember what people said about Obama while he was still in Harvard? They said Obama had the gift of always making people think that he shared their beliefs. Yet - no one knew what his were.

Looks like that ‘gift’ is about to stop being just that.

  6. Jack Marinoon 09 Nov 2008 at 10:44 am 6

Nothing is going to get done because he won’t make a descison

  7. Maxtypeon 09 Nov 2008 at 10:45 am 7

Yeah, letting a strong committed ally wonder if we keep our own commitments, that’s GREAT policy kishke.

  8. Kiton 09 Nov 2008 at 10:51 am 8

The next four years may be like watching a car accident in slow motion.

    Though I hope not.

  9. kishkeon 09 Nov 2008 at 11:05 am 9

Yeah, letting a strong committed ally wonder if we keep our own commitments, that’s GREAT policy kishke.

I didn’t say it was. What I said was that until he is actually sworn in as president and is brought up to speed, he’s wise not to make commitments. If at that point he reneges on commitments we have made which are important to our national security, I will join you in condeming him.

  10. G-MANon 09 Nov 2008 at 11:05 am 10

    That is almost a relief.

“You always know where President Bush stands and that’s a priceless commodity in a dangerous world.”

    Hey Harry,

On January 20th the world is going to be a much more dangerous place. Democrats like Schumer & Nadler want to sell out Eastern Europe in hopes of getting Russia to cooperate in regards to Iran - that is not going to work. The fate of places like Poland should be non-negotiable. Obama is going to go impotent in the face of saber rattling from Russia, China, etc.. Do you think it is a coincidence the Russian constitution is being rewritten to allow Vladamir Putin to return to the Russian presidency? Pray & pray hard.

  13. Stephanieon 09 Nov 2008 at 11:33 am 13

Obama don’t you DARE SELL OUT POLAND! There I said it. Those people deserve better.

  14. Blackiswhite, Imperial Agent Provocateuron 09 Nov 2008 at 11:34 am 14

At least he will be able to keep our minds off the disaster that will be our Dear Leader’s Foreign Policy with the show trials of Bush, Cheney, and countless others that the Left hates irrationally.

    Yes We Can!

  15. Helenon 09 Nov 2008 at 11:35 am 15

Whether Putin is the actual president or not is unimportant. He still runs the show. Of course, Russia under the Putin/Medvedev double act is having very serious economic problems and there might be serious internal problems. That’s not good news either as they might decide to take people’s attention away from that by another foreign military adventur. Either way, it would be nice to know what the President-elect of the United States intends to do. Sitting on this side of the Pond, I can smile wryly at all those Brits and Europeans who shouted themselves hoarse for Obama. They have got what they wished for and they might not like it.

Here is the link to the Wall Street Journal article written by Schumer:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121245110938939473.html?mod=djemEditorialPage

    Key quote:

“Two years ago, under NATO auspices, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania agreed to build an antimissile defense site to thwart the threat of a nuclear missile attack by Iran. The threat is hypothetical and remote, and the Bush administration’s emphasis on pursuing the antimissile system, without Russia’s cooperation, still baffles many national security experts.

It also drives Mr. Putin to apoplexy. The antimissile system strengthens the relationship between Eastern Europe and NATO, with real troops and equipment on the ground. It mocks Mr. Putin’s dream of eventually restoring Russian hegemony over Eastern Europe.”

Read the whole op-ed. I loathe Schumer and those like him - they are scum. Poland is every bit as important than any other ally. These people are truly nauseating.

I informed a friend of mine that Russia was going to invade Poland once the One was made President in January. She said “So?” I said, “Hey, Jackass, that’s how World War II started.”

Poland better be ready to be on her own. As every other “unimportant” ally of the US. The 21st Century version of Neville Chamberlain isn’t going to defend them against mosquitos.

  19. Publius804on 09 Nov 2008 at 12:00 pm 19

I don’t believe Russia will ever cooperate fully on the Iran issue, but there are those who think that selling out places like Poland will be an incentive. I pray for the Polish people - one of the most conservative countries in Europe.

  20. Jack Marinoon 09 Nov 2008 at 12:02 pm 20

Steph, We can’t worry about Poland being sold out, this bum will sell the USA out

  21. wfon 09 Nov 2008 at 12:10 pm 21

    kishke,

I get your point but how about honoring a commitment that your predecessor made? Our allies - not our enemies - must count on us being predictable. No president gets a clean slate to start with. The US of A did not come into existence on 11/4/2008. Although I understand that revolutionary radicals always liked the idea of a Year Zero (link)

  22. memomachineon 09 Nov 2008 at 12:22 pm 22

    Hmmmmm

The problem is that countries like Poland need these kinds of assurances because otherwise if they feel like they’ve been left out on their own almost anything is possible. Plus it’s not just Poland but all the other former Soviet satellite states.

An imprecise President is a real danger.

  23. Publius804on 09 Nov 2008 at 12:29 pm 23

Buckle up - its going to be a bumpy ride with Senator O’Dumbo at the controls. Plus he is surrounding himself with a lot of Clintonistas - change? Yeah right…it will be business as usual for the Democrats. The Obamabots are going to be one angry bunch.

  24. Danielon 09 Nov 2008 at 12:44 pm 24

I hope this reflects Obama’s capacity to, as Dennis Prager put it, Think a Second Time. He was adamant during the campaign to end the Missile defense, to unilaterally cut American Nuclear Missile programs, to dramatically cut Defense spending.

Perhaps he is trying to figure out a way to sell it to his base.

I do think, however, this shows Pres-Elect Obama does not know who he is and what he believes. That is a dangerous thing during these “very interesting” times. If he really was driven to end Missile Defense, then why go wobbly before the Polish President? If he has been convinced by advisers that it cannot be cut or else Russia will, literally, run wild through Eastern Europe, why be wobbly about maintaining it?

This would be a great moment for Pres-Elect Obama to show that he can govern from the Center, and that he will not be an ideologically Left-wing President.

  25. Stephanieon 09 Nov 2008 at 1:20 pm 25

Like Billy Jeff himself has said Obama will be the most corrupt administration we have ever seen. Trust me those loser Clintonistas have lost any favor they had with Billary. And when Bill and Hill decide to go to war they will. It won’t be pretty. They tried during the election and it didn’t wsork because of Obama’s corrupt fund raising, ACORN and the douche bag Media.
Did anyone see how some now have buyers remorse? Heh. I love. Dolts. Thanks jerks. You told us WE”D LOVE HIM and now now now……you are all having second thoughts? ARGGHHHHHH Can we have a do over. Mitt Romney/Sarah Palin v Odumbo and just plain stupid? PLEASE?

  26. Plissken79on 09 Nov 2008 at 1:23 pm 26

The Russian government under Putin and Medvedev will never assist the US and the UK in stopping Iran from getting a nuclear missle program. It is simply in their interest to aid an avowed enemy of the West, as a nuclear Iran’s target would be Israel, not Russia. Obama could offer to exchange most of the old Soviet Union as well as some of the “outer empire” in Eastern Europe (Poland, obviously) and the Russians still would not assist with the Iran issue. End of story

  27. Growltigeron 09 Nov 2008 at 1:48 pm 27

I’m no Obama fan, however, he is pres. elect, not president. He said flatly the USA has only one president at a time. Right now, Bush is that president. Obama has no say in whether the USA puts missile defense in Poland or not and should not be asked. When he is president, we’ll see what he’ll do.

If I were the president of Poland, however, I wouldn’t count on it. I do not think he’ll take on Russia over anything. Remember his reaction when Russia invaded Georgia? “Let’s wait and see”.

I’m sure Putin is salivating like one of Pavlov’s dogs over our presidential choice. Along with Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs, China and bin Laden’s molecules in Tora Bora (either intact or spread out over the landscape).

The USA is in economic meltdown right now. When we get out of the soup, Obama has to start paying back those who put him in office. That means we get on the road to European socialism which means we’ll have to cut defense. We’ll be lucky if we have the money to protect ourselves much less put missile defense systems over Poland.

GB, France, Germany, Canada et al had better figure out how they’re going to pay for their own military needs. I think Sarkozy has already figured that out. Merkel and Brown will remain in denial a little bit longer.

  28. whiskeyon 09 Nov 2008 at 1:51 pm 28

Obama always was and is a punk. Also weak, like all punks.

    He is NOT my President.

The result of this? Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, and everyone else in Europe is going to frantically nuke up. To deter from being conquered like Georgia.

Nukes are the trump card. These European nations can produce nukes in a few years.

  29. Major Grahamon 09 Nov 2008 at 1:53 pm 29

Sigh - great another deployment, this time to Poland to clean up the mess. Just what I needed.

  30. Stephanieon 09 Nov 2008 at 1:56 pm 30

Hey man if you get a chance, go to Swidnica to see the Red Baron’s home. I did back in 95. Man that was fun. Got lost, had an arguement with a hotel clerk who thought I was German, got saved by a German who had grown up there and then he and his wife and friends took me out and got me drunk that night. Talk about a blast.

  31. kishkeon 09 Nov 2008 at 2:14 pm 31

wf: Absolutely. And once he’s in office I’ll expect him to honor previous commitments unless there’s some very good reason not to (which sometimes there is). At this point, though, it’s premature.

  32. Jack Marinoon 09 Nov 2008 at 2:24 pm 32

Why don’t we, WE THE CONSERVATIVE PEOPLE go on strike. We don’t go to work, we don’t pay our taxes, and we don’t go to war…

  33. Kenn Christensonon 09 Nov 2008 at 2:52 pm 33

Jack, I’ve often thought about that. I’ve heard, “what would happen if all the illegals went on strike?” Just imagine what would happen if all the LEGAL conservatives went on strike. Just put your head between your knees and kiss your _ss and Presidency GOODBYE!

  34. Kenn Christensonon 09 Nov 2008 at 2:57 pm 34

We could call it the “Red Flue.”

  35. Major Grahamon 09 Nov 2008 at 3:03 pm 35

Jack - I think that is called “going John Galt” by the Ayn Rand fans. That would only happen if there was some sort of seismic stupidity on teh one’s part after he takes office. Not saying it can’t happen. But it is looking more like he wants to stay in power since he already talked about a second term in his acceptance speech.

Oh - and some more good thoughts on what our next likely Presidential Republican Candidate should think about doing:

My gut feelings is that we must allow the Divine Augustus Obamamus I to take this country and crash and burn it. We can’t stop him. We can all pull a John Galt somewhere in the middle of this train wreck we are heading for. The only way to KILL the democrats is to allow them all the power, let them pass every wacky perverted life style, raise every tax hike to 80%. Outlaw cars, gas, oil, farting in public, eating fatty foods, let the free all the chickens in the chicken farms, has anyone smelt chicken shit?

Let them have their commie orgasmic orgy, he only has two years to out law being a christian, conservative, outlaw being an american. Then we will all vote and flip the congress to real republicans, not RHINOs a slew of Sarah Palins, the we go after the the American Papa Doc and impeach him or vote the bum out of office in 2012 because by that time not even his wife will vote for him

If we stop him at every turn, they will say the republicans are not being bipartisan. lets sit back and watch the spectacle unfold.

As the Emperor Claudius said as he officially made Nero his adopted son and heir to the Roman throne…

” let all the poisons that lurk within the mud hatch out”

  37. boqueronmanon 09 Nov 2008 at 3:39 pm 37

Jack, thanks. You formulated half my pre-New Years wish: “Nothing is going to get done because he won’t make a descison [sic].” The other half is that the “Blue dog” Democrats in Congress will organize sufficiently to block the hard left legislation soon to be coming from the Moran-Murtha-Waxman looney left.

As I said the victory dance was going to short. As for our side we have to stop trying to get along and play nice. What did it get us? For 8 years we’ve had liberals actively undermining the president, the country and our armed forces. The lesson that should be learned from Nov. 4th is we stop trying to play paddy cakes with these guys and take the fight to them. So now the media got it’s way they’re having second thoughts? Too late to cry now you slit your own throat.

  40. Kiton 09 Nov 2008 at 5:00 pm 40

He may screw up our foreign policy, but no one will have to pay for cable, mortgage, or gas anymore.

    :)

  41. Traffic Cop Timmyon 09 Nov 2008 at 5:55 pm 41

I think Obama’s foreign policy problem will be that he won’t be able to make a decision.

He will, however, be able to make domestic decisions that further the liberal cause.

What that means in terms of the future of the world? No clue.

  42. a. acaciaon 09 Nov 2008 at 6:40 pm 42

Just remember this name: Vera Baker.

Vera Baker is said to be Obama’s mistress. Rumor has it that angry Michelle (when is this woman not angry?) had Ms. Baker exiled to Martinique. Google “Obama Mistress” and see what you get. There’s even a picture of her (see below).

This story had a chance of surfacing Big Time during the election but of course it didn’t. You might say it’s because the mainstream EneMedia is in the Obama tank - so why would they sabotage their dear idol’s destiny with this tabloid trash?

I’m afraid the *real reason* they sat on this story is much more cynical, believe it or not.

Ask yourself: what spurs the MSM above all else? The answer is readership, viewers, ratings…eyeballs! For a dinosaur media dying a slow death, eyeballs are the instant cure.

Had the MSM run this mistress story during the election, they would’ve thoroughly destroyed Obama and he would’ve gone back to the slums of Chicago and that would be the end of it. At max they’d milk this story for a few weeks, maybe more, but that’s it.

With Obi in office for at least 4 years, the press will have a field day digging through his dirty laundry. I doubt they’ll bring up Ayers/Wright but when it comes to sex scandals, look out! There’s a reason they say that “if it bleeds, it leads.” Sex sells. There are rumors that Obama screws around a lot. Interns, assistants, consultants - all bending over for The One. He’s a Rock Star, dontcha know? And Rock Stars get the celeb treatment which means lots of TMZ-style tabloid trash. And if the rumor has any truth to it, expect the press to feed like sharks. There’s enough chum in the water to fuel this story for many, many months, even years.

You watch what happens after Obama’s coronation. This story will explode. And all you “gracious” Conservatives who demand that we all respect the office of POTUS, even when it’s occupied by a Stealth Marxist…I wonder what ya’ll gonna do when they drag The One through the muck. I can’t wait to see.

Either way, prepare for more coarsening of the culture. We are about to see liberals eating their own. The MSM proped up Obama so as to ultimately tear him down. And why not? They need to sell papers. They need eyeballs. They need to survive. How deliciously cruel!

    A photo of Vera Baker…

boqueronman, you’re right I forgot about the ‘blue dogs’ I hope these dems fight all the marxist loving traitors to our constitution. America is a a crossroad as we have in the pass. We conservatives need new blood in congress not these wife battered republicans who want to get along with thugs and political mobsters. We have to be like them and give them no mercy and no quarter we owe this to all those young 20 year olds resting in all of our national cemeteries all over the world.

If things get to the point where these mad dogs fascist cross the line we will have to take action and end this, because one day we will all cross over to the other side and on that side of Perdition are all these young kids and they will asked each of us why we let this happen to the land they loved and died for. I’d rather have them slap us on the back and give us attaboys all around.

We can raise hell and give this guy problems which the media we see us the way the Nazis saw the jews of Europe. I feel this bum is so far over his head he will crash and burn this country. All of our enemies are going to attack the USA,

Putin won’t take the USA on head on, because he knows he will get hurt, but he will out maneuver this chicago punk and take back eastern europe. Then again the Chechens killed all those Russian kids and Putipu did nothing. If these Chechens did this when Stalin was alive, nothing would be living in Chechea, not even plants. Putipu has the same size balls as Obama - BBs

Its the radical Muslims who could bring a suitcase bomb into the US. They want to kill 2 to 3 million of us. Then we will vaporize the entire middle east and kill hundreds of million and if Obama wants to talk peace in between events. The sub-commanders can launch on their own if they are cut off from Washington.

Schumer is such a jerk. Poland, like Iraq is a forward outpost against whatever threats are out there. But Schumer doesn’t care, its power and party politics before country.

And Obie looks to toss Poland under the Bus, looks like. Its not the Poland he thought he knew.
